When is the RSVP deadline?

We would love to have our guest list finalized by mid-August.

What is the dress code?

Our dress code is formal, but don't worry we will still be doing lots of dancing. We think that this means that men will wear a suit/tie and ladies will wear a dress that is around ankle length. Please let us know if you have any questions.

Why did you choose the ceremony location?

Our ceremony will be set in Newport, RI which is where Julie's parents met and where Julie was born. It is a quaint historic coastal town, known for Gilded Age "summer homes" and yachting. We were so blessed that Father Mark agreed to celebrate our marriage at St. Mary's, which is of Gothic Revival style from the 1850s. It is also where JFK was married.

Can I bring a plus-one?

We have allocated enough space for everyone to take a plus one. If you would like to bring anyone else, please check with us and hopefully we can make it work.

Where should we fly in to?

Boston is probably the best. Providence would be slightly closer but more expensive.

Where should we stay?

The reception is in Bristol, RI so staying there would work. You could also stay in Portsmouth, RI which is between the ceremony and the reception.

Why did you choose the reception location?

Our reception is set at Linden Place in Bristol, RI. Julie attended her cousin's wedding there when she was in elementary school and remembers it as a magical location. Ray agreed that it looked nice. We will have our cocktail hour in the 1810s Federal-style mansion and grounds. Our main dinner and dancing will be in the carriage house, which has plenty of room for 4 long tables (like in Harry Potter) and the dance floor. Ray says "yes."

When should we arrive to the ceremony?

We would love it if everyone is seated 15 min before our ceremony begins (so 1445). Dedicated church parking is right across William St. from the church, so you won't have to allocate too much extra time for parking.

What if I have dietary restrictions?

We are having a family style meal, which we selected to hopefully include options for everyone.

Will there be an open bar?

Yes! We will have drinks available throughout the evening. "You're welcome" - Ray "Be careful, make sure you make it home safely" - Julie

Should we take pictures?

If you feel called to take pictures during the ceremony/reception, we don't mind if you do so but we want you to enjoy the wedding as much as you can. We will have instructions on how to share the photos at the reception.
